Washington Township Environmental Commission
The mission of the Environmental Commission is to encourage the protection and appropriate development and use of the Township's natural resources. The Environmental Commission advises the Mayor and Council on land and water conservation and protection actions and pollution events; provides recommendations to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment on land development applications; and sponsors community education and engagement activities. Projects include Earth Day events, an annual community-wide clean-up, stream sampling with school students, endangered species protection, and activities addressing drinking water protection, tree preservation and reforestation.
