Our dearest friend and Rotarian, John McGuiness passed away, Thursday, January 3, 2019.  He will be sadly missed.

John will be fondly remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend.  He was a humble man with a genuine heart, quick wit and a compassionate soul.  John was married to his soulmate and best friend, Kathleen McGuinness and was the proud father to two daughters that he loved more than anything.
John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Military; He worked for Mobil Oil as an Inventory Management Specialist until his retirement in 2004. John spent the next thirteen years as a Funeral Attendant and Ambassador for the McGuinness Funeral Home in Woodbury and Washington Twp.
Away from his work, John enjoyed coaching youth soccer and softball. Since 1995, he has continued to support the Gateway Girls Soccer Team; attending games, running the ball on the sidelines and assisting with Summer League. One of his most treasured honors was being named "12th Man" for his dedication. He was loyal to his Woodbury Heights community by serving on several committees throughout the years. He was a dedicated member of the Washington Twp. Rotary Club; South Jersey Old Timers Baseball Association and volunteered as a greeter at home games for the Philadelphia Phillies. John enjoyed golfing, softball and walking with his dog, Colby. Most of all John enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends creating memories that will now be cherished as his legacy. John will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved this special man.

!! OPERATION WARM !!

Since its inception,. Operation Warm has worked closely with Rotary clubs. When Operation Warm’s founder Dick Sanford bought his first 58 coats in 1998, his local Longwood Rotary Club assisted him in the first coat giveaway at a nearby school serving children in need. Over the next few years, other clubs joined the effort, helping expand fundraising and assisting with more coat giving programs.

Today, over 280 Rotary Clubs in more than 50 districts have partnered with Operation Warm to conduct service projects that provide brand new winter coats to children in their communities. In fact, Rotary clubs have provided over 300,000 children all over the country with new winter coats, helping us impact communities we could never reach on our own, from New Hampshire to Texas, the Pacific Northwest to Michigan, in large cities and many small towns.

We will be identifying the beneficiary organization(s), typically local schools or youth services agencies, and raise funds locally to support this project.
